Download Bandizip for Windows, macOS and ARM64

One 6 MB installer, no bundle, no account. Pick the build that matches the machine, then set two options that make it pleasant to live with.

Two settings worth changing on day one

01

Turn on smart extraction

Settings → Archive → Extraction. Archives that already contain one folder stop producing a duplicate folder inside the destination.

02

Leave code page detection on

Settings → Code Page. This is what keeps filenames readable when an archive arrives from Korean, Japanese or Chinese Windows.

03

Turn off auto-open

Unless you extract one archive at a time, the folder-opening behaviour gets in the way of batch work. Set the overwrite policy to "ask" too.
